Exempt Position

Front Office Manager
The Front Office Manager oversees and leads the day to day operation of the front office including (Front desk, Concierge, PBX, Gate Greeter and Guest services) ensuring that highest standard of services are maintained. The Front Office Manager should possess strong communication skills and demonstrate leadership abilities. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. This position will respond quickly to guest requests and/or complaints in a friendly manner and ensure that appropriate action is taken to guarantee guest satisfaction. The person in this role also is a seasoned trainer in both technical and service related practices and tasks; leads FORBES and AAA training and ensures adherence to the same.

Sous Chef - Banquets
The Sous Chef - Banquets is responsible for running a specific culinary outlet on a daily basis under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef. Maintain established quality standards. Developing and driving a positive work environment. Improving guest and employee satisfaction and maximizing revenues. Over see preparing and plating of all menu items, special requests and opening/closing duties of assigned outlet.

Bar Food Runner | Full-Time
This position requires 6 months current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 1-2 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card, and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Bar Server | Part-Time
This position will serve guests food and beverage in a gracious professional manner. Provide a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of our existing steps of service. This position requires also requires a minimum of 1 year work experience in a high volume beverage or nightclub setting. Must have knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, mixed cocktails; including bottle service. San Diego Food Handlers card and ability to communicate proficiently in English is required. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Bar Server Assistant | Part-Time
The person in this role assist Bar servers in providing quality food and beverageservice to guests, according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness oftables, service areas and equipment.Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.     

Bartender | Part-Time
Courteously, enthusiastically, and efficiently takes orders, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests in accordance with existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a bartender in a resort environment.  Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. 

Bell/Valet Attendant | Part-Time
The Bell/Valet Attendant is responsible for providing a warm welcome and create a positive first impression to all Resort Guests and Visitors. Provide a high level of service to create a memorable experience as soon as guests reach the clubhouse and promote Rancho Valencia notoriety. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, remain stationery at assigned post for extended periods of time. Ability to work in various environments including adverse weather conditions such as cold, rain or heat frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property. constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. Must be 18+ years of age with a valid driver's license and DMV printout and maintain a good driving record.

IRD Server P.M. | Part-Time
The position is responsible for preparing and plating all menu items, special requests and opening/closing duties. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 to 4 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 6 to 8 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Line Cooks | Full-Time
This position is responsible for preparing and planning for breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Maintains established quality standards. Know assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English. 

Overnight Cook | Full-Time & Part-Time available
Overnight Cook is responsible to prepare and serve food items for guests and employees during the overnight. Complete nightly prep work and to prepare for breakfast shift.  Maintain established quality standards. Know assigned menus. Must be self-motivated, dependable, reliable and willing to work overnight as the lone culinary person on the 3rd shift. 

Pool Attendant | Full-Time & Part-Time available
The pool attendant’s primary role is to engage with pool guests in order to ensure the guest has all needed amenities and supplies.  While tending to guests, the Attendant is also responsible for the set up and tidiness o the pool at all times throughout the shift.  This requires maintaining a pristine level of cleanliness and organization in the following areas; Spa pool, Resort pool, Cabanas, lounge chairs, restrooms and pool locker rooms.  The attendant also provides water, clean towels; refreshing spritz and delivers daily amenities to guests throughout the day.

Pool Bartender | Part-Time
The person in this role courteously, enthusiastically, and efficiently takes orders, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests in accordance with existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a bartender in a resort environment.  Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Restaurant Food Runner | Full-Time & Part-Time available

Restaurant Host/Hostess | Full-Time & Part-Time available
The person in this role Serve as consistent point of contact for restaurant outlets. Courteously greets and escorts guests to assigned tables and assist in seating, ensuring existing standards of service. Answering phone calls as necessary with the highest level of professional language in a calm, clear and concise manner. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a host/greeter in an up-scale restaurant environment, English communication skills, Engaging, warm personality, and a valid San Diego Food Handler's Card. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Restaurant Server Assistant P.M. | Full-Time & Part-Time available
This position will assist restaurant servers in providing quality food and beverage service to guests, according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. This position requires 1 year current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 2-3 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Shuttle Driver | Part-Time  (Fri/Sat & by business demands: Fri 12:30pm-7pm, 9pm-1am. Sat 12:30pm-5pm, 9pm-1am)
The Shuttle Driver transport employees to and from outside the property grounds to the employee service entry. The person in this role will answer employees' questions in a polite and gentle manner. Maintain constant communication with the dispatcher or manager. Carry out regular check on the shuttle vehicle before and after each day's run. Carry out repair of minor faults and report major problems, accidents, or damage to the vehicle to the dispatcher or technician, and assist as needed to wash Company and Hotel Courtesy vehicles as directed. Dress in a neat and professional manner. Must have flexible availability and a valid California Driver’s license in good standing. For a qualified candidate, we may be open to flexible scheduling to share the role with another qualified candidate.

Spa Concierge | Full-Time 
The Spa Concierge is responsible for scheduling and promoting spa services on the phone and in person. The Spa Concierge provides information about our products and service menu, product ingredients and spa facility to enhance the guests experience and promote Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa. The Spa Concierge is responsible to give thorough tours with detailed information to all guests, so they can benefit from all aspects of the spa offerings The Spa Concierge supports all aspects of retail and compiles statistical information as needed and requested. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience in an up-scale customer service related field, engaging, warm personality, and the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Spa Fitness Attendant | Full-Time & Part-Time available
The Fitness Attendant’s primary role is to anticipate and satisfy all guests needs in the fitness studios throughout the day and to set up, maintain  and provide a pristine level of cleanliness in the Spa pool, movement studio, Pilates studio, Yoga pavilion and fitness center.  The attendant also provides water, and towels to guests during classes and workouts.

Seasonal Non-Exempt Position

Pool Server | Full-Time ans Part-Time available
This position requires a minimum of 1 year experience as a restaurant server or equivalent. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift/pull/push at least 30lbs frequently, and must be able to use up selling techniques successfully. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work weekends and holidays.
