1. What’s your favorite meal at the resort?
I adore the Mero Sea Bass at Veladora. The kitchen pairs it with a smoked tomato water and
the most delightful collection of vegetables from Chino Farms. It's incredibly light and has the
most amazing collection of flavors.

2. What is your favorite place to relax and think on property?
I quite like taking a long walk through the olive grove for inspiration. Taking a moment to rest
at the waterfall is even better.

3. What is your favorite drink at the Pony Room?
Hands down, The Pony Express. It truly is the smoothest margarita I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Fortaleza Reposado, Cointreau and lime. Heavenly.

4. What is your favorite place to eat in San Diego?
Catania in La Jolla has a lovely atmosphere, and a wonderful selection of cocktails, starters
and amazing pasta. Each bite is more delectable than the last.

5. What is the best “diamond in the rough” experience in San Diego?
St. Malo's beach in Oceanside.

6. What is the best place to shop nearby?
The Floral Palette just down the street from the resort is my go-to spot for stationary and gifts,
and it is always fun to spend an afternoon shopping on Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach. Cedros musts are Solo, Bixby & Ball, Chicweed, Mabel's, Pink Lagoon...it's hard to go wrong. I
also have a penchant for the jewelry at Sheridan and our spa.

d. Winter

8. What is the ultimate place to take the complimentary Porsche?
Zipping around ultra-lush Rancho Santa Fe is just right in the Boxter.

9. What is an unexpected detail or feature of Rancho Valencia that most people may not know?
Many of the fruits and vegetables utilized in the dishes served at our restaurants come from
a very special place: Chino Farms, which is just minutes from the hotel in Rancho Santa Fe
. Alice Waters of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse was the first renowned chef to recognize Chino Farm's incredible produce. I highly recommend stopping by. Their French strawberries are
life changing.
