Exempt Position

Spa Assistant Manager
The person in this role supports the Spa Director in establishing and maintaining day-to-day operations of the spa facility including but not limited to leading and monitoring the performance of Concierge, therapists, service providers, cleaning staff and locker attendants. With the direction of the Spa Director, supports training efforts and monitors adherence to service standards to assure a smooth, five star performance while exceeding every guest's expectation every time. Follows established standards for resolving guest and employee concerns and is able to think and act quickly for circumstances without a defined protocol. Must have a minimum of 1 year management experience in a high end, luxury service environment. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient ability with computer booking systems and communicates clearly with guest, staff and vendors, to their understanding.  

Hourly/Non-Exempt Positions 

Banquet Server | On-Call
The Banquet Server provides food and beverage service to the guest in a gracious professional manner. Provides a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of our existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 3 years banquet server experience in a 4 or 5 star resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and must be able to communicate proficiently in English.  

Bar Server | Part-Time
This position will serve guests food and beverage in a gracious professional manner. Provide a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of our existing steps of service. This position requires also requires a minimum of 1 year work experience in a high volume beverage or nightclub setting. Must have knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, mixed cocktails; including bottle service. San Diego Food Handlers card and ability to communicate proficiently in English is required. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Bartender | Part-Time 
Courteously, enthusiastically, and efficiently takes orders, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests in accordance with existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a bartender in a resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. 

Bar Host/Hostess | Part-Time
The person in this role Serve as consistent point of contact for restaurant outlets. Courteously greets and escorts guests to assigned tables and assist in seating, ensuring existing standards of service. Answering phone calls as necessary with the highest level of professional language in a calm, clear and concise manner. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a host/greeter in an up-scale restaurant environment, English communication skills, Engaging, warm personality, and a valid San Diego Food Handler's Card. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Bar Food Runners | Part-Time
This position requires 6 months current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 1-2 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Housekeeping Houseperson | Full-Time
The Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness of the guest rooms interior and exterior including guest patios, entrance areas, linen closets, stairwells, walkways, pathways, trash rooms. Other responsibilities include deep cleaning, handling guest's requests stocking and removing linen, pressure washing, shampooing carpets, floor care and performing special projects. This position requires prior guest contact experience, able to lift/carry up to 10lbs. frequently and 25lbs. occasionally. Flexible availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays. Must have basic English communication skills.

In-Room Dining Server | Full-Time
The person in this role serves guests food and beverage in a gracious professional manner. Provides a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience in Room Service in an resort environment, English communication skills, Engaging, warm personality, and a valid San Diego Food Handler's Card. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Line Cooks | Full-time and Part-time Available
This position is responsible for preparing and planning for breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Maintains established quality standards. Know assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Overnight Cook | Full-Time
The Overnight Cook is responsible to prepare and serve food items for guests and employees during the overnight. Complete nightly prep work and to prepare for breakfast shift. Maintain established quality standards. Know assigned menus. Must be self-motivated, dependable, reliable and willing to work under minimal supervision. Succesful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimun of 2 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimun of 3 years cooking experience in breakfast and lunch in international and regional cooking in a fine dining establishment.

Pastry Chef de Partie | Full-Time
The Pastry Chef De Partie is considered as the sous chef assistant and may be required to assume the responsibility of the kitchen in the absence of the Pastry Sous Chef. The position is responsible for preparing and plating all menu items, special requests and opening/closing duties. Succesful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimun of 4 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimun of 8 years cooking experience in breakfast and lunch in international and regional cooking in a fine dining establishment. Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English. 

Pastry Cooks | Part-time
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing and planning of sweet items, pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fruit compotes, breads and chocolates for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as various specialty items for amenities and special functions. Maintains established quality standards. Knows assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. This position requires culinary degree with 1-2 years pastry experience in fine dining or without culinary degree, 3 to 4 years pastry work experience including breakfast and lunch in international and regional cooking in a fine dining establishment. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.    

PBX Phone Operator | Full-Time
The person in this role routes incoming phone calls and also communicates the details of all Rancho Valencia services and amenities to both the internal and external caller. The PBX operator is a liaison between the in-house guest and the outside caller and all the outlets within the property. The PBX operator also supports In-Room Dining by receiving and inputting In-Room Dining orders for the guest. This position requires exceptional phone manner, polished communication skills and demeanor, and the ability to work well independently and with a team. Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays and both day and evening shifts required. The ideal candidate has previous hotel PBX operator experience, previous front desk experience helpful.

Pool Attendants | Full-Time & Part-Time Available
The pool attendants primary role is to engage with pool guests in order to ensure the guest has all needed amenities and supplies. While tending to guests, the Attendant is also responsible for the set up and tidiness o the pool at all times throughout the shift. This requires maintaining a pristine level of cleanliness and organization in the following areas; Spa pool, Resort pool, Cabanas, lounge chairs, restrooms and pool locker rooms. The attendant also provides water, clean towels; refreshing spritz and delivers daily amenities to guests throughout the day.

Spa & Pool Supervisor | Part-Time (floater)
The Spa and Pool Supervisor is a Food & Beverage and Guest service professional with responsibility for seamless service to the spa and pool guests including but not limited to offering food and beverage service, monitoring the timeliness of food and pool amenity deliveries, ensuring the upkeep and tidiness at the pool and nearby areas. This position covers Main Spa & Pool Supervisor's days off. The Spa and Pool Supervisor is both a leader and a role model for adherence to and training of all five star and five diamond standards. To positively impact the guest and employee experience, this individual applies a warm demeanor, exceptional communication skills, experience with all aspects of the menu offerings including food service, preparation, ingredient lists, and up selling techniques to all interactions. The ideal candidate has unwavering attention to detail, leadership experience and proven ability to motivate and inspire staff. 

Spa Massage Therapist | On-Call
This position requires a minimum of 2 years Massage experience in a resort spa setting, overall minimum of 5 years' experience, excellent Swedish, Deep Therapeutic, Hot Stone and pre-natal massage, NCBTMB certification (dated within two years of hire), SD County license & CA Certification of Massage. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Spa Nail Technician | On-Call
Provide professional care of nails for members and guests, provide uncompromised attention to quality of service and follow all service standards. This position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience and a current State Board License. Must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English and must be available to work Sundays and Mondays, including holidays.

Steward/Dishwasher | Full-Time 
The person in this role is responsible for washing and cleaning glass, china, silver, pots, pans and cooking equipment by machine and hand. Keeps the dish/pot washing area and equipment clean and organized. Additionally cares for and minimize breakage of all such equipment and completes any cleaning projects as advised by Stewarding Supervisor or Chef. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30lbs. frequently and 45lbs. occasionally. Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have basic English communication skills.  

Tennis Pro (for Junior Tennis program) | On-Call
The person in this role will provide Tennis lessons for our Junior Tennis program and will contribute to the overall property goals of offering a unique and outstanding tennis and resort experience. This position requires related experience (a minimum of 4.5 level) as well as teaching and coaching experience. Must be certified USTA, USPTA, or PTR member and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English . Previous experience coaching children is greatly preferred.  

Seasonal/Temporary Positions

Pool Cooks | Seasonal Full-Time
The person in this tole maintains established quality standards in our service pool areas. Know assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Housekeeping Room Attendant | Temporary Part-Time
The person in this role is responsible for the cleanliness of the guest rooms interior and exterior including guest patios, entrance areas and linen closets. Other responsibilities include deep cleaning and performing special projects. Room attendants use personalized mobile packs to carry their supplies and are responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms. Room attendants contribute to the resort commitment to high quality guest service and teamwork. This position requires 2 years housekeeping experience preferably in a resort or hotel environment. The person in this role must be able to push/pull/lift a minimum of 25lbs. frequently and 30lbs. occasionally and be able to stand for a long periods of time . Must have basic English communication skills.
