Exempt Position

Spa Director
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 5 years experience at a Director level or higher, within a luxury spa environment. The person in this role understands the financial and business aspect of the operation while being exceptional at building relationships with private members, local and travelling guests, employees and peers. Success in this role requires unwavering organization, genuine warmth and interest, leadership and training skills to both nurture and develop staff without compromising standards and expectations. This individual will analyze and realize revenue opportunities, will manage expenditures and will be responsible for efforts towards financial success of the Spa operation.

Non-Exempt Positions 

Banquet Server | On-Call
The Banquet Server provides food and beverage service to the guest in a gracious professional manner. Provides a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of our existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 3 years banquet server experience in a 4 or 5 star resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Banquet Houseperson | On-Call
The Banquet Housemen is responsible for setting-up meeting rooms, audio visual equipment, and private events in accordance to the banquet event order specifications. Helps with polishing plates, glassware as well as set-up of cooking equipment, buffet, and coffee breaks. This position requires a minimum of 2 years banquet server experience in a 4 or 5 star resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and must be able to communicate proficiently in English. 

Barback | Part-Time
The person in this role will maintain cleanliness of service areas and equipment, stock all wares and equipment needed for service. This position requires a minimum of 6 months current experience as a Barback in a resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Bar Food Runners | Part-Time
This position requires 6 months current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 1-2 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Bar Server | Full-Time and Part-Time available
This position will serve guests food and beverage in a gracious professional manner. Provide a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of our existing steps of service. This position requires also requires a minimum of 1 year work experience in a high volume beverage or nightclub setting. Must have knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, mixed cocktails; including bottle service. San Diego Food Handlers card and ability to communicate proficiently in English is required. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Bar Server Assistant | Full-Time and Part-Time available
This position will assist restaurant servers in providing quality food and beverage service to guests, according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. This position requires 1 year current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 2-3 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.  

Bartender | Part-Time
The person in this role is courteously, enthusiastically, and efficiently takes orders, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests in accordance with existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a bartender in a resort environment. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Front Office Representative | Full-Time
This position begins with a telephone focus however, this is a shared department and PBX Operators and Front Desk Agents rotate and share coverage between both work roles. This position requires exceptional phone manner, polished communication skills and demeanor, and the ability to work well independently and with a team. Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays and both day and evening shifts required. The ideal candidate has previous hotel PBX operator experience, previous front desk experience helpful.

Handyman | Full-Time
The Handyman repairs and maintains machines, equipment, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems. A Handyman keeps all structures in working order through maintenance and repairs. Some duties include pipe fitting, insulating, boiler making, welding, carpentry, machining, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing new equipment, and repairing walls, floors and stairs. This position requires 5 years maintenance experience including but not limited to: basic electrical, dry-wall, plumbing, wood repairs, TV, Internet, a/c, troubleshooting and repair, must communicate proficiently in English. Previous experience in hotel or resort environment preferred, current extended certifications in a/c and electric are a plus.

Human Resources Assistant | Part-Time
The Human Resources Assistant offers administrative and clerical support to the HR department including but not limited to creating documents, basic spreadsheets, presentations and flyers. The person in this role is responsible for maintaining personnel, compliance and medical files in accordance with specific legal guidelines and is a liaison for staff assisting sharing of messages and offering employees assistance with basic paperwork such as change of address, direct deposit and similar. The ideal candidate is proficient with all basic Microsoft Office applications, has a polished demeanor and professional phone manner. The person in this role takes direction well, is motivated to learn, appreciates a support role and has a "service heart". Previous administrative experience either in a school or office setting required, bilingual Spanish-English communication helpful. This position allows 6-9hrs per week.

In-Room Dining Server | Part-Time
The person in this role serves guests food and beverage in a gracious professional manner. Provides a comfortable, exceptional dining experience through the consistent implementation of existing steps of service. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience in Room Service in an resort environment, English communication skills, Engaging, warm personality, and a valid San Diego Food Handler's Card. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Line Cooks | Full-time
This position is responsible for preparing and planning for breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Maintains established quality standards. Know assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Overnight Cooks | Full-Time
The Overnight Cook is responsible to prepare and serve food items for guests and employees during the overnight. Complete nightly prep work and to prepare for breakfast shift. Maintain established quality standards. Know assigned menus. Must be self-motivated, dependable, reliable and willing to work under minimal supervision. Succesful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 years cooking experience in breakfast and lunch in international and regional cooking in a fine dining establishment.

PBX Phone Operator | Full-Time
This position requires exceptional phone manner, polished communication skills and demeanor, and the ability to work well independently and with a team. Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays and both day and evening shifts required. The ideal candidate has previous hotel PBX operator experience, previous front desk experience helpful.

Reservations Sales Agent | Full-Time
The person in this role will provide a courteous, knowledgeable first contact for all incoming reservation calls. This position is responsible for selling a full guest experience by answering questions on rates, hotel facilities, services and special promotions and takes the call beyond simply taking a reservation request. Additional responsibilities are to process all reservations, changes and cancellations received by GDS, on-line, fax or email, Will work closely with Group Sales and Catering Department. Must have flexible availability and must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Restaurant Food Runners | Full-Time and Part-Time available
This position requires 6 months current experience as a food runner in a fine dining environment and 1-2 years experience as a bus person in a upscale environment. Must have a valid San Diego food handler's card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Restaurant Host/Hostess | Part-Time
The person in this role Serve as consistent point of contact for restaurant outlets. Courteously greets and escorts guests to assigned tables and assist in seating, ensuring existing standards of service. Answering phone calls as necessary with the highest level of professional language in a calm, clear and concise manner. This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years current experience as a host/greeter in an up-scale restaurant environment, English communication skills, Engaging, warm personality, and a valid San Diego Food Handler's Card. Must have flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Restaurant Server Assistant A.M. & P.M. | Part-Time A.M. & Full-Time P.M.

Spa Supervisor | Full-Time
This position supports the Spa and Fitness Management's initiatives to provide exceptional service to the guests and to the staff. The person in this role is responsible for training Concierge and Reservations staff, monitoring performance and reporting to management when corrective action is needed. Success in this role requires previous leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, and strong ability to learn electronic booking systems and must have a warm demeanor, even in the trickiest situations. Previous Resort, Spa or Salon supervisory experience required.

Spa Massage Therapist | Full-Time
This position requires a minimum of 2 years Massage experience in a resort spa setting, overall minimum of 5 years' experience, excellent Swedish, Deep Therapeutic, Hot Stone and pre-natal massage, NCBTMB certification (dated within two years of hire), SD County license & CA Certification of Massage. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Steward/Dishwasher | Full-Time 
The person in this role is responsible for washing and cleaning glass, china, silver, pots, pans and cooking equipment by machine and hand. Keeps the dish/pot washing area and equipment clean and organized. Additionally cares for and minimize breakage of all such equipment and completes any cleaning projects as advised by Stewarding Supervisor or Chef. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30lbs. frequently and 45lbs. occasionally. Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have basic English communication skills.

Seasonal/Temporary Positions 

Pool Cooks | Seasonal Full-Time
The person in this tole maintains established quality standards in our service pool areas. Know assigned menus and be able to assist other employees. Successful candidates have a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years culinary work experience in a fine dining environment. Candidates that do not have a culinary degree must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years fine dining experience cooking international and regional cuisine. All candidates must possess a San Diego Food Handler's card and must have the ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Pool Server | Seasonal Part-Time
This position requires a minimum of 1 year experience as a restaurant server or equivalent. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift/pull/push at least 30lbs frequently, and must be able to use up selling techniques successfully. Must have a valid San Diego Food Handlers card and the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Must have flexible availability to work weekends and holidays.
